Happy New Year

admin on: Class 2

Hello all,

Happy New Year and welcome to 2022.

Firstly, I want to say thank you on behalf on of all the year two team for all the lovely wishes, cards and gifts that we received!

The children have returned to school brilliantly and are back into the swing off things in no time.

We have had a brilliant week making graphs and pictograms in maths, learning about the Isle of Struay and Katie Morag in English and studying the continents and oceans during geography. I'm sure many of you were subjected to the ever so catchy jingle of the 'Seven Continents Song'!

If you missed it - here is a link to it!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks again,

Mr. H.

Hi everybody!

We started the week off on a cold note and the children made a little time in their busy day to enjoy having a look on the playground and having a play in the snow.

We have been busy in using hand tools to make decorations and props for our performance too!

Thanks, have a great weekend everyone!

Hi all,

This week, year two have been focussing on shape in maths and have loved making representations of 2-d shapes with elastic bands and geoboards! We have talked about straight and curved sides, symmetry and vertices too!

During English, we are using the amazing book, titled 'Journey' as a stimulus for writing and we have be using awesome verbs and adverbs!

We have explored the arctic region a little more and had a go at sewing some puppets, we have looked at healthy eating in science and work hard on our handball skills during PE. Finally, here are a few photos from outdoor learning this week. The children are enjoying different shelters they made!
