Have a lovely special Christmas break.

Your children have worked so hard in their first term at school.

They have been learning in so many different ways and their maturity and confidence was show in their Christmas production last week.

They deserve a good rest, as we all do.

Sewing a running stitch making a candle book mark.

Decorating the treasure box for their scented pot.

Being creative

Finishing off Christmas cards.

Thank you for your support,

Mrs Oddy and the Reception Team

WOW!

We are still feeling so proud of all the children for their performance on Monday.

It was lovely to see so many of you watching them and I know they made you all very proud.

They showed maturity, resilience and confidence performing to a full audience.

We have tried to keep the rest of this week as 'normal' as possible showing the children on our calendar that Christmas is a few weeks away yet.

We have been moving and dancing every day to the www.activeadvent.fun     from imoves  advent calendar which you can do at home for free. It is a 3 minute work out every day for the children which they all have been enjoying.

There favourite is the 2nd December so far which you can go back to.

Below are a few of our activities this week.

I have added a class photo of the children dressed up in their Nativity out onto MICROSOFT TEAM as it is a secure site.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs Oddy and the Team

What a busy week we have had continuing our daily phonics and maths as well as experiencing the first signs of winter.

Please look on Teams for the link for imoves advent calendar.

Its a three minute work out per day. The kids love it.

We have been looking and sorting different materials and talking about recycling which we will cover again later in the year.

Recycle, Reduce, Reuse,

I have attached an active advent calendar to Teams. The children have really enjoyed the first three days and would like to continue this over the weekend. You may need to sign up but its all FREE.

Snowy day what fun we had exploring the properties of the snow and watching it melt. Solid to a liquid!

Drawing plans our our houses!

Sorting different materials!

More house designs in the role play area.

Thank you for your support,

Mrs Oddy and the Team

Well another busy week looking at the jobs Police Officers do in our community and the work of the RNLI.

We played hide and seek in the woods!

What fun we had trying to find each other, like real detectives.

Linking with the RLNI we investigated and predicted from a selection of objects which ones floated and which ones sank.

We also painted sea pictures and added our own sailing ships using shapes which we cut from circles and squares.

We have begun to look at the number 4/5 and different ways we can make this amount. 3 and 1 2 and 2 4  and 0 5 and 1..........

We then used our 5 frames outside and filled them.

How many in a full 5 frame?..... 5.

One less?....4

Thank you for your support with the Christmas play.

We are in full flow of our rehearsals.

See you on the 6th December 2.15pm. Two places per family, no tickets given out just a sign in register at the door.

It is being record and put onto MICROSOFT TEAMS for those that cant make it. (secure sight for just yourselves)

Please come and see one of us if you do not want your child to be filmed.

Thank you again for your support,

Mrs Oddy and the Team.

What a busy week of events.

In  class this week we have been learning about 'Oral hygiene' and the importance of keeping our teeth clean and healthy by eating and drinking the right foods. We also learnt about looking after our eyes and where we go for an eye test.

Both these services we find in our community.

Other events this week included 'Road safety week' with Miss Hemingway, Anti-bullying where the slogan this year is 'One Kind Word' and finally 'Children In Need' the charity event.

In maths we have continued to recognise and make groups of 1,2 3 in many situations.

Next week we are learning about Police and Lifeboat Rescue workers.

Thank you for your support at home.

Please remember your childs reading book/sheet and reading record on MONDAY'S.

You will have received a Christmas costume letter in your child bag this week. If not please come and see me. We do have a few spare in school to borrow.

Mrs Oddy and the Team.
