Friday 1st April. 9-9-45pm
Please if you can come in yourself or send a willing relative as the children love making the heads with you and it will be something you will treasure.
Happy Red nose day!
What another busy week.
This week has been science week so on on Friday afternoon we attempted some experiments with the children.
They loved them as you can imagine.
We did the skittle rainbow experiment.
Exploding volcano.
Predicted which liquid, oil, milk, water or vinegar would dissolve the ginger bread man the quickest.
Apple bubbles and moving colours.
Lots of learning and talking was involved in the process.
We have been learning lots of new vocabulary about castles long ago and who lived in them and the work that they did.
In maths we have been looking at shapes, their properties such as roll (curved face) and side (flat face) and making our own repeating patterns.
Below is a selection of photos from the week:

Hello,
Welcome to Spring term 2.
The children have come back buzzing and really excited to learn.
We can really tell the children who are becoming independent learners and putting in that extra effort at home.
Well done!
This week we have started our topic on Space and have been looking at the book 'Whatever Next' By Jill Murphy
The children have had fun building rockets, re-enacting out the story, making characters from the story and learning facts about space.
We also squeezed in a talk about St Davids day, Shrove Tuesday and ate pancakes on Wednesday.
On Thursday we celebrated world book day and listen to the Author Gareth P Jones talk about his children books about fairy tales on Friday.
What a busy week !

Well we made it the end of a long Spring 1 term with little disruption to our curriculum.
We had the last of our planned Tradition Tales this week.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
The children have loved being in character and thinking about all the feeling of the characters?
Why did Goldilocks go into the house?
Was she lost?
Was she hungry?
We have fun printing and cutting thick and thin strips of paper to make our forest scenes and of course we had to try porridge.
We designed and made chairs for baby bear from materils such as lego, blocks and junk boxes.
Looked at different sizes in maths.
Here are a few of the highlights.
Making porridge - 3 scoops or 2?
Building the cottage.
Making Valentines cards. - free choice
Building their own small world play set showing the three bears house and pathway.
Reading practise in and amongst the quality play.
Have a lovely holiday and hope we get some dry weather.
