Mr. Robertson comes to visit.

Class 4 had a visit from Eavan's dad yesterday who told us all about his bike trip across South America. The children were very interested and had lots of questions. A big thank you to Mr. Robertson for coming in to see us!

Sports Barn

admin on: Class 4

Class 4 had a wonderful time at Sports Barn today, trying out different sports. We tried out:

Handball

Parachute games

Athletics

Cricket

Bowls

Problem solving tasks

The children learnt lots of new skills and thoroughly enjoyed themselves! I was very impressed with their behavior throughout the day as well!

Homework this week

admin on: Class 4

The homework on IXL this week has been highlighted on the IXL website. There are lots of different activities your child can try to help them revise for the end-of-year assessments next week. The class are quite good at identifying their own strengths and weaknesses in maths, so they should be able to select the highlighted activities which they believe they need most work on. They can do as little or as much as they want.

Have a great weekend!

Next Year

admin on: Class 4

I am absolutely over the moon to be following Class 4 up to Class 5 next year. As a teacher, you develop a bond with each class you teach and it is always sad to say bye to them so to be able to teach this class for another year is a real privilege. They are an amazing bunch of kids and I cannot wait to embark on the next phase of their journey with them.

As their Year 5 teacher, I will ensure there are enough changes in my approach to teaching for them to feel there is a difference from Year 4 whilst still keeping the same key principles I believe in as a teacher. I hope the combination of familiarity and a new year group complement their progress and development as the next generation of wonderful minds. It’s not often a teacher gets to follow their class up, so I know I’ll be seizing this unique opportunity with vigour!

If you would like to discuss anything with me, my door is always open. I look forward to discussing Year 5 with you at our curriculum evening on the 15th July.

As always, thank you for your support and I can’t wait to continue working alongside you and your children for another year!

Homework due 21.6.19

admin on: Class 4

The homework this week is:

1.) IXL maths - S8 and S9 on money. This is revision of money and solving problems involving money.

2.) IXL English - Revision of word types in preparation for the grammar test in a couple of weeks. B1 on nouns, D1 on verbs, F3 on adjectives, F5 on adverbs, G1 on prepositions and H2/H4 on conjunctions. Just spend half an hour trying out some of these activities. They don't all have to be completed as the children have done these activities before.

3.) Spellings: Strength, suppose, surprise, therefore, though, although, thought, through.

Have a fantastic weekend!
