World Mental Health Day - Thursday 10th

admin on: Class 4

7th October 2019

It is World Mental Health Day this Thursday and we are going to be raising money for Young Minds, a charity which supports young people with their mental health. It is a key focusing point on the School Governments agenda to promote the health and well-being for children in school. The Minister of Health and Well-being, the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Miss Hemingway will be selling yellow ribbon badges for 20p on Wednesday and Thursday break times. We ask the children to then wear them on Thursday to show their support. All proceeds will be donated to Young Minds. Here is a link to the Young Minds website: https://youngminds.org.uk/

Look out for staff wearing yellow on #HelloYellow Thursday!

We have had another great week in year 4.  The children have enjoyed our work on The Lorax.  We will be starting a new (and very exciting) book next week.

Here are the words that we sent home yesterday for your children to keep having a go at spelling and reading.

Once again thank you for all your support.

Climate Crisis Protest

admin on: Class 4

20th September 2019

Today we supported Greta Thunberg and other school children across the country by participating in the Global Earth Strike. This is raise awareness of global warming and promote natural climate solutions. From 11.45 to 12 pm years 4,5 and 6 went outside and peacefully sat on the playground in solidarity listened to the natural beauty surrounding us. We watched a video that Greta made with George Monbiot about the climate crisis. Here is a link if you would like to view it:

Our New Year! - 12.9.2019

admin on: Class 4

Well what a great start to the year we have had and a busy one!  We have been learning about different inventors, which has been interesting.  Our swimming on Friday was a great success.  The children are going to great fishes by the end of the year!  Judging by our first Netball lesson, we will be signing up for the Olympic team before you know it too!

Lets keep this amazing work up all year.

Well Done Year 4.

Miss Watkins and Mrs Kendal
