We had a new member of the class on Friday. His name was George. He behaved himself very well and the children all welcomed him kindly!
George challenged the children to name some of his bones! I learnt a lot from George and I know that the children also did. What an interesting morning we had with George!
Well done Year 3!

Hello again!
We've had a great week once again this week; the children have really enjoyed their Art with Miss Henson! They have loved being introduced to the very exciting world of paper mache! They've been creating Thor's Hammer Amulets and are very much looking forwards to painting them in authentic colours this week!
Literacy has involved lots of role play this week; your children really are amazing actors and actresses!! Their role play is really enhancing their understanding of the story 'Into the Forest' and this week they will be taking their role play out into our very own 'Netherthong School Forest'!!! Later they will be developing their learning further by writing their own play scripts; can't wait!
Onto homework!! Here's a list of the spellings;

Please also support your child in completing their IXL homework. Please note the change to Maths!! Please could the children complete CC.11 rather than CC.8 again!!
IXL Maths; CC.11 (solving multiplication problems)
IXL English; B.7 (spelling activity)
If your child has been asked to complete Schofield and Simms please return to me by Thursday so I can mark it. Thank you so much to those of you that are working so hard with your child on comprehension too; it really is helping to develop their confidence in class.
Looking forwards to our Viking Day on the final Thursday of this half term (11th April); please don't feel at all pressured to buy a costume; using some brown/green fabric and a belt over leggings and a t-shirt would be quite sufficient and if you need help with locating fabric please do come and see me and I'll locate some in our stock cupboards!
Thanks once again for your amazing support,
Mrs Matthews and Miss Henson
