Holmfirth High School Art Workshop

On Wednesday, Mr. Dean and 8 Year 10 pupils from Holmfirth High School came to visit Year 6 for the day and provide them with a workshop on printing. They first practised tessellating patterns using a template before moving on to using this understanding of pattern-making with polystyrene tiles that they used to print on paper. In science this week, the children have been learning about voltage in circuits and investigating what happens to bulbs when more batteries and bulbs are added. Here are some photos:
Geography in Class 6

Here are some photos of some of the geography we have been up to in the last couple of weeks. The children recreated how fold mountains are formed by plate tectonics using large pieces of card. Then, later in the geography topic, the children went out on a 'field trip'... to the school field! They sketched the landscape they could see and then labelled it with physical features of geography.
