22.9.23 Update

admin on: Class 6

Another busy week in Year 6!

In history, this week, we have looked at the Battle of Hastings and how wars back then were fought using soldiers and horses. Their energy levels were important in whether they were successful or not, so we looked at the background of the battle, with many of Harold Godwinson's soldiers being marched down from another battle, near York, to the Battle of Hastings. We discussed whether it was bad luck, mistakes by Godwinson or both that led to his defeat by William the Conqueror.

In science, the children have used their knowledge of light travelling in a straight line to understand how periscopes work using mirrors. The children had a go at making their own and tried them out at the front of the class. Some were more successful than others! Here are some photos:

15th September Update

admin on: Class 6

Another fantastic week in Year 6! I am so impressed with their behaviour and attitude. I can't wait to say what they can achieve this year!

In science this half term, we are looking at the topic of light. This week, we looked out how light travels in a straight line, reflects off an object and then into our eyes. We used wool and torches to demonstrate this.

Welcome to Year 6

What a fabulous week I have had with the new Year 6 children! Mrs Johnson and I have been so impressed with their behaviour, attitude and work ethic this week. We can't wait to see what amazing things they'll produce this year!

On the first day, the children created their own board games. We will be playing these later in the half term! Here's some photos of them making them. Have a lovely weekend!

Yesterday, the reception children visited Class 6 for the morning. The children read with them, played bingo and even created a mini sports activity for them on the field. Here are some photographs:
