Well done this week Class 3.

We have had an amazing week.

We had some wonderful team work this week to help us create amazing poetry about animals.  We all helped to create a bank of wonderful words and phrases.  You really impressed us with the way you decided on your animal and worked as a team to add to your words.  We have written some wonderful poetry this week.

Well that has been another amazing week.  We have a new member of our class on the wall at the back of the room.  He needs to have a name.  See if you can think of a good skeleton name before next week!  You were amazing at learning the names of all (some) of the bones in Science.  We were also really impressed with your memory.  You could all remember the names of some of the key muscles in our bodies too.  I think we have a class of doctors, nurses and physios in the making!

You have been busy counting money and learning how to give change.  We hope that you don't go home and start spending too much of your grown up's money now.

You have become amazing Tommy Fleetwoods and Laura Davies this week.  Your golf skills are showing amazing progression.  Keep working at it and we will have a little tournament (we will call it the Netherthong Open), in a couple of weeks!

Have a great weekend, keep safe and we will see you all next week.

Well what a week!  We just about managed a (nearly) full house this week!  It has been so lovely to have you all back in.  We have missed you.

This week in maths we have been measuring lots of things and adding together different measurements. You have been superstars at this!

In Literacy we finished our work on Fly Eagle Fly.  What a lovely story it was.  Can you remember - It walks like a chicken, it talks like a chicken, it eats like a chicken, it thinks like a chicken.  It is a chicken!

Our week ended with our wonderful speeches lesson.  We had so many brave children reading out their incredible speeches.  The children were all thoughtful.  Some cracked a few jokes, others thought about what the future of Netherthong might look like.  Some children were specific in the roles they would like to take on and others were happy just to put themselves forward.  We wish we could have given them all a role.  We cannot tell you how very proud we are of all of you!

Many congratulations to Emma for being democratically and anonymously being voted in.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Don't forget you homework.

Well done everyone.

It was lovely to see so many of you back in class this week and working hard.   We have been reading our lovely new book Fly Eagle Fly.  What a great start to a story!

Fly, Eagle, Fly! An African Tale: Amazon.co.uk: Gregorowski, Christopher: 9781416975991: Books

We have looked at some of the lovely sentences in the book and had a go at retelling parts of it too.  We will keep reading through it over the next week or so.  We hope you continue to enjoy it.

In Science we have begun learning about skeletons.  See if you can remember the three main types and test your grown ups on them!

Mrs Matthews has asked if we could share this exciting netball opportunity with you too:

It sounds like it will be lots of fun.  I wonder if we have any budding  Serena Guthries in our class?

Have a lovely weekend, keep safe and see you next week.

Hi everyone

What a week we have had.  Some of you have been at home, some at school, Mrs Kendal and Miss Watkins in on odd days, poor Mrs Scott not in.  Fingers crossed that next week we will be back to some sort of normal.

Despite our higgledy-piggledy week, we have been really busy.

We have been looking at fractions still.  We have been learning about equivalent fractions and learning how to order them.  We will keep having a go at this through the year.

We have had a lovely project in English this week learning all about birds.  We have written some lovely fact files and found out some wonderful facts about birds.  Did you know that a tawny owl says "kee-wick"?  Or that nightjars are sometimes called goatsuckers!  Did you know that robins egg is pale blue or that a barn owl is about the size of a cat.  You found out so many facts.  Well done class 3.

We have also become an orchestra.  You followed your conductor brilliantly when we were playing the glockenspiels.

Have a great weekend, keep safe and keep smiling.

Well done everyone

PS:  Don't forget to get on Teams and have a look at your homework.
