Class 6
Half Term Project
admin on: Class 6
Hello again - the half term is drawing to a close and we have had a very, VERY enjoyable 7 weeks, combining laughter, activities, videos and lots of hard work.
Hopefully your child came home yesterday to tell you about the extremely successful performance of Macbeth that they put on for year 5 (socially distanced) in the hall. As much as possible, I tried to let them do this independently, with very little input. They were fantastic!
Thank you to all of you who have supported your child with the new Teams platform - they have all been rewarded for their efforts and praised in class. This all stands them in good stead, not just for high school and their homework platforms, but also any blended work that we may need to do from home, should the situation change.
Next half term we will be covering World War I and World War II in topic and English. I have set them another project on Teams to research World War I and present their findings in some way. Again, this is not compulsory, but any work they put in will benefit them in the half term to come.
In addition, there is Mathletics to complete (they can always do more, if they are bored in the holidays!)
Have a great break!

Practice SATs and Autumn 2 Interventions
admin on: Class 6
Good Morning
As you will no doubt be aware, we have been doing practice SATs this week. We will be sending these papers home with your child for you to look through with them. I would encourage you to engage with them on any areas where they are unsure. Please keep in mind, there is a lot of teaching still to do in year 6 and this is very much an opportunity for them to familiarise themselves with the format and examples of the tests that they will be sitting.
Having said this, there are revision guides and practice question booklets widely available, should you want to look into this. Personally, I particularly recommend the Achieve guides (in Reading, Maths and Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation), which are available on Amazon for around £6.
Interventions will start - before school - for some, straight after the half term holidays.
Please check your child's book bag for letters and SATs papers.
If you have any questions, please email me on: class6@netherthongprimary.co.uk
Thanks for your support

Week 6

First of all, watch out for your invites for Parents' Evening - with links - they will be sent out on Teams in the next 24-48hrs.
Spellings are the same this week - please direct your child to the Spelling Shed website, if they need any practice.
Mathletics is based around the long division and long multiplication, which we have been doing in class. It's all good practice.
Any problems - please get in touch.
Thanks for your support,
Mr C
