Bonfire night and firework activities

admin on: Reception

6th November 2019

Today children have done a range of different activities all related to bonfire night. They create fireworks using 2D shapes, sparklers with biscuits and firework scenes. They also created their own dance where they were the bonfires and fireworks. The children began to learn about a new artist, Jackson Pollock. As a class, they used his 'drip painting' method to create a firework scene in a night sky. What a cracking day we have had!

Autumn 2 week 1

We had a visit today from Mr Curly Whirly the therapy dog. All the children had a lovely time with him hiding his sausages for him to find and stroking him.

Thank-you for bringing him in.

Halloween and Diwali fusion!

admin on: Reception

23rd October 2019

Today we have been very busy learning about Halloween and Diwali festivals. Children have used their hands to make witches flying through the sky, made hanging witches out of card, used sponges to create a background for a silhouette of a cat or bat and created beautiful mandala patterns. This afternoon a team of chefs have made some delicious pumpkin soup. All children tasted it. How yummy it was!
