Homework due 18.5.18

admin on: Class 4

In Class 4 this week, we have been busy using our electrical knowledge to perfect a burglar alarm. These burglar alarms will be used in a Class 4 versus Year 6 pupils experiment next week. If our burglar alarms work next week, the children will have the chance to win a chocolate to take home.

We have also used the 2animate tool on Purple Mash to create our own animations. I recommend having a look on your child's Purple Mash account to see what they have created. The results are fantastic and thoroughly entertaining.

I have spoke to a few pupils about the IXL English homework last week on prepositions. A few children have found this difficult and I've given them advice on how to answer these questions. If you feel your child needs further input on this, please send them my way!

The homework for Class 4 this week is as follows:

1.) IXL Maths - S8 and S9 on solving money problems.

2.) IXL English - D12 on irregular past tense verbs.

I have attached a photograph of this week's spellings.

Have a great weekend!

Last week in Class 4

Last week in Class 4, we were very lucky to have a cycling workshop where all pupils were given the opportunities to improve their cycling skills. It was fantastic to see the children gain confidence on bikes with many of them having the chance to attempt the obstacle course! Keep an eye on the class gallery for photographs of this event.

Also last week, we finished our drama topic where the children acted out part of the myth of Romulus and Remus. I thoroughly enjoyed watching their acting skills flourish, I definitely think we have some budding performers in Year 4!

This week in Class 4.

admin on: Class 4

Good afternoon,

We've had a busy week in Class 4 this week, starting new topics in geography and English.

In English, we have tried out a drama technique, using freeze-frames to express the feelings of characters in the myth of Romulus and Remus. In geography we are starting to look at the water cycle, so we conducted some experiments involving water that were designed to get us thinking about where water goes when we are done with it.

The homework this week is as follows:

1.) Maths IXL T3 and T12 on reading clocks and 24 hour time. Some children may find T3 easier, some may find it harder. Everyone can have a go!

2.) English IXL H1 and H2 on coordinating conjunctions.

Please can the IXL be completed by next Friday.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Mr. Kershaw
