Week ending 11th February

Posted: Feb 11, 2022 by: Martin Clayton (MClayton) on: Class 5

Friday rolls round once more and there is definitely a change in the air - we've even got daffodils in our classroom!

The reason for this is twofold: first, to take them apart, to study the parts (male and female) that are required for fertilisation, to consolidate our science topic; second, before we did that - some wonderful watercolour work with Miss Monday!

In English, we have been working on a non-chronological report on wildlife in the Amazon rainforest - the choice was: green anaconda, Amazonian river dolphin, or piranha!

Maths has been a hugely successful week working on fluency between fractions, decimals and percentages - never have we seen such an amazing understanding - just superb!

The Street Dance is complete and we just need to practice this now, in our last lesson.

Hockey has been amazing - we had 4 matches running at once, with some superb skills - especially in goal-keeping.

This week has been Children's Mental Health Week, so we have been doing activites around that and discussing the importance of positive mindsets and growing TOGETHER.

It has also been Internet Safety Week, which has been covered in lessons and assembly.

Lots going on, as usual.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mr C, Mrs J, Miss M, Mrs P and Mrs M
