Monday 29th June with Mr. Simpson

Posted: Jun 28, 2020 by: Liam Kershaw (LKershaw) on: Class 5

Good morning, Class 5. Mr. K here. Owen has sent me over his great blog work and instructions. I hope you enjoy the work set today. I have really liked seeing some of you come up with your own ideas for the blog - I think it is great to have different ideas each Monday! Keep your eye out for more blog takeover competitions! Don't forget, all this work has been prepared by Owen, except the daily questions, which I have added in. Enjoy!

English
I have wrote out some blurbs or starts of some of the books we have read in class, or some books you might have read when you were little. See how many you can guess. Eliza only got 6 out of 10. Send your answers to Mr. K for marking.
Daily grammar questions:
1.) Where is the conjunction?       I need to go to the park and look for my rucksack.
2.) How many apostrophes are needed?         I couldnt find Ryans rucksack.
3.) Where is the possessive pronoun?    I am not sure if that is mine.
4.) Where is the reflexive pronoun?  He needs to try it for himself.
5.) Add brackets to show the parenthesis.             The cat belonging to Fran was meowing.
6.) Which two word types does 'her' represent in this sentence?              Gabby needed to bring her phone with her to school.
7.) Add the comma.            The play was so good wasn't it?
8.) What three pieces of punctuation can be used to indicate parenthesis?

Have a go at this maths game. It is good fun and you can make it as easy or a hard as you like.

Mr. K here: Send in photos of the fruit kebabs, please!

Racket and ball - How many times can you tap the ball up, without dropping it?
Extra
Try the gratitude scavenger hunt. I have done this and really enjoyed it.
I hope you have a good Monday and enjoy the work. It is hard being a teacher and thinking of things to teach, but I hope I have made it fun for you.
I miss seeing you all and being in our classroom. I hope you are all safe and well and enjoying lockdown. I hope I can see you soon.
From Mr Simpson
