Week ending Friday 5th November 2021

Posted: Nov 5, 2021 by: Sarah Kendal (SKendal) on: Class 3

Remember, remember the 5th of November! I hope you all manage to enjoy watching some fireworks safely this weekend. I look forward to hearing about your adventures on Monday.

We have had a busy start to the new half term. Unfortunately, it was a little soggy and we were unable to take part in our outdoor learning session. Hopefully, we will be able to make up for that on Monday.

In Maths, we have been solving addition and subtraction calculations using the column methods. We have played games with the number-fans, developing our speed when adding single-digit numbers together.

In English, we started reading The Iron Man and have been writing down our own stories about where we think he came from. What wonderful imaginations we all have!

Our science topic this half term is all about forces and magnets. We discovered that forces are pushes and pulls and sometimes we need more force when pushing or pulling an object on different surfaces. We investigated our ideas using toy cars on different materials.

As you may have seen in the newsletter, we will be running a range of fun activities for the children during the week of the 15th November for Children in Need. If you are in a position to donate, we are asking this to be done online via this link. Please don't bring any money into school. Thank you!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
