Good morning fabulous year 3!

Thank you so much for all your super photos once again; I'm so proud of you for working so hard and so enthusiastically. I love to see your photos and post them on our blog for you!

Here are a few of the latest photos...

Chloe posting her letter!

Arianna's happy place!

Jack working hard on his maths!

Alfie's maths; learning about turns and directions!

Here are Max and Mia enjoying their maths too!

Here are today's activities;

Literacy;

Today's activity is a lovely activity to share with an adult. I'd like you to sit with Mum or Dad and share the information book about Covid-19. It's a great book that explains all about the virus in an easily understandable way. Later in the week I'd like you to have a go at writing your own information leaflet so see how much information you can find out today.

You might decide to write down a few key facts that you think would be good in your own leaflet; today perhaps just decide on some simple sub-headings or key words you might want to include.

Here's a link to the book -'Coronavirus- a Book for Children'....

Maths;

Here are your 8 questions;

  1. 672 - 227
  2. 542 - 128
  3. Subtract 40 from 382
  4. 50 less than 582
  5. Take away 328 from 772
  6. Subtract 200 from 765
  7. 992 - 248
  8. 727 - 253

Problem; If I was facing North and made 3 quarter turns clockwise, where would I be facing?

Activity;

We practised turns and directions yesterday. If you found this tricky do keep practising practically!

Here's an activity I'd like you to try- choose A or B (only select C if you would normally do so).

I bet you'll be really good at this activity because of all your practising yesterday!

Use your toy figure to help you if it helps too.

Enjoy!

Here are a few tasks from Miss Hemingway too!

Hello everyone, Miss H here too! Here are some activities for computing and music:

Computing and music;

We were meant to be starting our new computing topic but when I logged onto PurpleMash, I saw they had creating something quite incredible! They have created a music programme where you can make your own piece of electronic music. I would like you to have a go at composing your own piece of electronic music! I can’t wait to boogie on down to them …

PSHE;

I did this activity with year 2 and they loved it so have a go at this ...

Have a read through this story called Odd Socks.

Everyone has differences that we can and cannot see but does that mean we should treat them differently? Discuss this with people at home.

I would like you to create a mind map of qualities that make you different from other people. Here is what makes me different from other people …

You should be proud of your differences and make sure that we respect everyone’s differences and treat everyone equally. Our differences are what make us unique and special and should treasure these!

Have fun and enjoy your day!

Please do get in touch with me via our class3@netherthongprimary.co.uk email if you need any further help at all and please let me know how things are going. Keep sending those lovely photos.

See you all soon!

Mrs Matthews
