First Day Back

What a brilliant start to the year! The children and I enjoyed writing about our holidays, recapping mathematics skills and drawing a self-portrait of ourselves. I am thoroughly looking forward to seeing what this year brings!
Pirate Day!

Today we came dressed as pirates! We did a variety of different activities linked with our history topic of seasides past and present. Shiver me timbers we all looked scary and spoke like a true pirate all day! Arrrrrr!
Den Building with Buddies

Today we built dens with our buddies using stick, cable-ties and plastic sheets. We used triangular frames to help them to stay up. After they were built, we had a healthy snack inside! How snug we were!
The delicious pirate picnic

Today we had our superb pirate picnic, linked with our science topic learning about the benefits of eating a balanced diet. First we washed our hands so our hands were clean and we were being hygienic. Next, we prepared the food which consisted of:
Black-Beard Pizza-licious Vegetable Pizza
Deadly Mixed-Leaf Salad
Scurvy Sandwiches
Ferocious Fruit Salad
Surprise cupcakes (Mashed potato cupcakes)
Miss Hemingway laid blankets and cushions on the floor so we could sit and eat our scrumptious meal. We were even aloud to take our shoes off! The food was 'scarily' yummy!!!!

Voting for House Names

Today we voted for the change of house names. We each went outside the classroom and privately voted for the person we would like to represent our house colours.
