Good morning everybody,

Again, a big thank you to all of you who have been in touch with me, helping me to develop relationships with you before we get together in September. I've had some lovely work - especially on the window topic.

Here are some:

Edward

Toby

Ethan

Isla

 Eavan

 James

Libby

Madison

Mason - Stars!

Luke - Luke window.docx

And well done to those of you from the key worker group: Bella, Esme, Seb, Alfie, Izzy and Max - I have had work handed into me from you also.

Why can't male ants swim?
They are buoy-ant!

So... tasks for you today...

First, make sure you are reading - here is Bella reading upside down:

Second, make sure you are getting plenty of exercise and fresh air. I'm sure Mr Kershaw is encouraging this also, but this is one of today's topics.

I'd like you to walk out of your front door and count the number of steps it takes you to get to the end of your street.
Then walk back and check it is the same. If not, be scientific and check it again.
Once you have decided on the exact number, record it, then try to beat it somehow and see how much you can beat it by.
Now, I should probably say at this point, that you will need to be aware of other road users - pedestrians, cars, bicycles, etc - so it may be worth doing this with an adult.
The other benefit of the adult is that they can get a photo of you doing this in your other method.
Finally, as an extension (for those of you who want to), can you try to work out the fraction, or percentage difference that your other method gained you?
I look forward to hearing how you did and how you did it.
I have been walking into work every day for the last 15 weeks. I know from my watch, it is 2322 steps to work. Tomorrow morning, I will try to beat it.

Next topic: Music - who is your favourite musical act?
I would like you to decide on ONE favourite and write me a short report on WHY they are your favourite. How did you first hear of them? Which songs do you really like? Have you ever seen them live in concert?
As an extension to this, I would like you to design a new album cover for their next song, which YOU have to name - so it should be something that I would expect. Again, be creative. The writing is important and so is your design.

I have many, MANY favourites and next year you can expect to hear a lot of Blink 182, Bring Me The Horizon and Yonaka. The band I have seen most is Metallica - a whopping 19 times! I think I must have about that many t-shirts also (much to the delight of Mrs C).

Have an enjoyable day and I hope to hear from as many of you as possible.

Mr C.

PS - thanks to Edward for telling me he wants to follow the Dallas Cowboys next year. I could have predicted this, as I went with his dad to the Cowboys stadium (the AT and T) for his dad's birthday, a couple of years back. If anyone else has a favourite, let me know.
