Yesterday, you researched the list of great women from history that I put on the blog. Hopefully, you have a good idea who each of these women were, and you have chosen one that you are interested in to research in more detail.
Today, you need to be researching the person you have chosen in more detail. You need enough information that you will be able to write the biography in a few days' time. So today, you task is to simply research as much as you can about the great woman you have chosen. You can research when they were born, their childhood, their education, jobs they have done, if they had a family, the great things they were famous for, and any other additional information you find interesting about them. Remember, the more information you get, the easier it will be to write the biography later.
Here are your 8 questions on grammar for today:
1.) Add an apostrophe to this sentence: The childs bag had been dropped outside the school.
2.) How many pronouns? I am visiting the house where I was born.
3.) Where is the coordinating conjunction? We can have pasta or we can have pizza.
4.) Where is the abstract noun? She felt joy when she realised she had won a trip to New York on a luxury ship.
5.) Add a comma: In the basket there was a pint of milk and a chocolate bar.
6.) Where is the relative pronoun? That boy, who was crying, was younger than me.
7.) Where is the modal verb? You shall go to the ball!
8.) What type of word have I underlined? I saw a cat on that wall.
Maths
Yesterday, you completed a recap lesson on perimeter. Today, we will be doing the same with area. Some of you may recognise the celebrity teachers in the video! On the link below, there is quite a lot to do, so take your time, and if you need to have a break, then please do! There is a sheet for you to fill in whilst you watch the first video, plus an interactive task halfway down and then a sheet from Maths-Whizz to complete.
Remember, to find the area you multiply the length and the breadth of the rectangle. If you are given the area and only the length, you need to divide the area by the length to get the breadth.

Topic
Yesterday, you began to look at different types of natural resources. Today, we are going to think about the distribution of these resources. We are going to look at the distribution of oil reserves, gold reserves and wheat farms across the world. I have provided 3 maps for you below with the approximate distribution of the natural resources on a world map. Using the blank world map that I have attached to this blog, I would like you to colour in on that map the areas of the world where there are oil, gold and wheat resources. Choose a different colour for each natural resource and make a key to show what each colour means. There may be some overlap, but not too much.
We have done an activity like this before in school, when we coloured in the biomes of the world on a map, and also the climate zones of the world. It is very similar to that activity, and it is designed to help you understand where in the world natural resources are.
Here is the distribution of oil across the world.
Now for the location of gold reserves in the world.
Finally, the location of wheat farms across the world.
Use this map, and colour each natural resource using the maps above to help.

Today is our Race for Life day! Here is a message from Mrs Barker:
So the Netherthong Race for Life is today at 1pm! I know so many of you have organised your own event in your gardens and surrounding areas. We have had so much support through the fundraising link, we are now at around 75% of our £1000 target. Please keep sharing this link so that we can reach our goal.
If you take any photos or videos of your event, please email them to class2@netherthongprimary.co.uk If you send in your pictures, we will automatically presume you give us permission to use on the website and other sites associated with Cancer Research. I hope to put some kind of montage together when I recover from running around the playground! This will be a wonderful whole school collaboration at a time when we can’t be together. Good luck – knowing that you are all there will spur me on, I’m sure!
Happy running!
Mrs Barker
