Another busy week completed in Year 6. We have learnt about the area of triangles and parallelograms in maths. We have finished our Robinwood writing topic in English with an explanation text. In science, the children have looked at the structure and function of the heart. Next week, they will be completing an enquiry to see what affects heart rate. In history, the children have looked at some reasons why the Allies achieved victory in Europe in 1945.

Also, we had a visit from Counsellor Hogley and the school government planted a tree that was gifted to us to celebrate the Queen's platinum jubilee. The planting activity seems even more poignant now that the Queen has passed. Here is a picture of some of the Year 6 school government members as well as the competition winners who designed a poster to commemorate the jubilee.
