The bank holiday weekend is upon us... it's almost May! It's a shame the weather doesn't realise this...

So, this week we have been looking at line graphs, as a start to our data handling topic and have quickly realised the full value of a sharp pencil and a ruler.

In English, we have concluded our 'Window' topic, with some fantastic poetry writing and recital in groups. This topic NEVER fails to capture the imagination and provoke a lot of debate about green belt and building new homes.
A fantastic book!

In science, we have continued our topic on properties of materials with a two day experiment on thermal conducting and isolating. We used different materials to package our cup of water and measured the difference in temperature.

We looked at the evidence for the kings in the ancient Shang dynasty (is it reliable?) and tried to put them chronologically - which was a challenge!

Sometimes harrowing, quite inspirational and hard to read the end without a tear in my eye, this book is a sobering true account of two children's journeys in Southern Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya (and the USA). Fantastic!

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend.
Mr C, Mrs J and the team.
