Week ending 20.3.20

Posted: Mar 21, 2020 by: Elaine Matthews (EMatthews) on: Class 3

Good afternoon everyone,

What an unbelievable week we've all had! I am devastated we won't be opening our school doors as normal on Monday morning; it brings tears to my eyes to think I won't be getting the chance to welcome your gorgeous children into my classroom as normal. I absolutely love my job and really look forwards to teaching your children every single day. They are a fabulous class; they keep me very busy but I genuinely love every minute. We have great fun in year 3; they keep us smiling every day! I would have loved to have had the opportunity to speak to you all at the end of the day on Friday as I know you will have many concerns.

We have worked really hard this week to put together a special pack of activities for you and your child; it includes a number of reading comprehensions, maths and also literacy and grammar activities. Please don't feel anxious at all about the volume of resources we have included; we will work on these bit by bit over the coming weeks. Sorting the documents into 'maths', 'grammar/literacy' and 'reading' would be helpful for you when I'm setting tasks. Please don't think you and your child need to work through them all at once or without any guidance. I will post a blog every day (Monday to Friday) and will ensure this is available for you to check before 09.00am every day. I will highlight which activities I would like the children to complete each day and a suggested timetable. The children will need your support with each of these activities but please do not hesitate to email me on the class 3 email if you have any difficulties at all. Many of the activities are differentiated so you can ensure your child works at the level they are best suited. I will keep the activities as varied as possible too, ensuring some are practical, some physical, some written and others involving online tasks.

Thank you so very much Mrs Cooper for all your wonderful support this week; I'm so grateful.

Well, I'll sign off for now but will be in touch on Monday morning bright and early!!

Take care and keep safe and well,

Mrs Matthews

Hi Mrs Matthews Hope you are well and keeping safe. Thank you for all your work putting together the work packs, they are great! The girls and I are going to try to do PE WITH JOE, which Joe Wicks is doing each morning, Mon-Fri, from 9 to 9.30am on his YouTube channel “The Body Coach TV”. Thought it might help to get us up and moving and ready for work...them and me!! Maybe others might want to give it a try?! Stay safe and we’ll see you again soon. The Garside’s x
