Tiger-ific writing

Posted: Oct 1, 2021 by: Mrs Parker (NHemingway) on: Class 1

1st October 2021

We have been rounding off our work on The Tiger Who Came to Tea in literacy. We have had a go at writing our own version of this story. They used adjectives and focused on using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

In Science this week, we have been learning that the days are shorter in Autumn and Winter. To help us, we used our fine motor skills to cut out two circles, which we made into a day and night wheel for each season. We compared our wheels and what they showed us.   We could notice that in Spring and Summer the days are longer and in Autumn and Winter the days get shorter.  We'll build on this theme over the next couple of weeks. The children were excellent with their scissor usage and colouring - we were really impressed with their wheels!
In RE, we continued our work on special books and this week looked at how Muslims look after the Qur'an.
Have a lovely weekend!
