Morning all,

Mrs. Barker and I are looking forward to welcoming some of you back into school today, but if you are learning from home, we hope you and your families are well.

Here is today’s list of suggested activities:

- GoNoodle -

- Phonics - https://www.ruthmiskin.com/en/find-out-more/parents/

‘u-e’ sound!

Use the link above to view the Set 3 video published at 9.30 each day. Join in with the phonics learning and then at the end see how many words you can write down containing the ‘u-e’ sound! Don’t forget the secret e!

- Maths -

Grab a clear container/bottle and fill it with water.

Empty half out and ask how much is there in now?

Empty a quarter ask how much is in now?

See if the children can use language like: full, half full, half empty, a quarter full/empty, three quarters full etc.

Time for a little more practice on finding a quarter of a quantity.

If you have them available – grab a paper plate! (We have these ready in school Emma)

Draw a cross going across the plate , splitting it into quarters and try to make sure each area you make is equal.

Use anything you have (pasta, counters, small toys, cubes, blocks, lego) to help you solve these questions.

Children to place cubes into 4 groups to find a quarter of a number.

- Break -

- English -

Not quite Narwhal by Jessie Sima

Look at the book cover by clicking these blue words.

What is the title of this book?

Who is the author/illustrator?

What do you think this book will be about?

Children to write a prediction paragraph about what they think will happen in the story.

Remember good handwriting and your BIG3! Could you include any adjectives or interesting punctuation?

- Lunch -

- Science -

Can you find ten different objects from around your house?

When you have collected all ten, can you tell what the object is made out of?

Could you also say what properties the material has?

It could be hard/soft, smooth/rough etc.

Cheers, and stay safe!

Mr. H.
