Morning all,

I'm in school organising the classrooms ready for some of you to return to school!

Here is today's list of suggested activities:

- GoNoodle -

- Phonics -

Use your 'Fred fingers' to write down these words containing the 'are' sound.

stare
spare
scarecrow
aware
beware
compare
nightmare

- English -

In your remote learning books, can you write a sentence or two about each of your pictures you completed yesterday?

Remember, make sure your handwriting is lovely and neat, make sure you remember the big 3, and why not try to use interesting adjectives and punctuation such as exclamations marks!

Tell me what you have been up to!

- Break -

- Maths -

This week, we are focusing on fractions. So far, you have all done a bit of work on finding half of something.

It's time to have a look at finding a quarter of an object or shape.

Watch this video all about fractions.

To make a half or quarters the parts of an object have to be equal.

So if I have a pizza and I share it with Mrs Cooper, Mrs Barker and Miss Kelly everyone gets the same amount.

We all have equal parts of the whole pizza.

Cut out pieces of paper into circles, squares and rectangles.

With one piece, model folding a square, circle and rectangular piece of paper in half them half again.

Show that there is four parts, but are they equal?

Explain that when something is split into four equal parts, it is in quarters.

Get the children to have a go at folding some of the paper into quarters and get them to colour in one of the quarters.

- Lunch -

- History -

This half term, we are going to be exploring the history of transport.

The first historically significant event we are going to cover is the first flight.

This was done by two people known as the Wright brothers and today I would like you to learn a little bit about them by looking through this presentation here

Thanks all,

Mr. H.
