Music, Music and little more Music!

This week we have enjoyed so many different aspects of our learning.

In Maths this week, we looked at statistics! We were collecting lots of data and using this to create bar charts, pictograms and other graphs to compare the different data.  We also wrote a lot of questions that we could use to gather information from the graphs.

In DT we looked at samplers and different sewing techniques. A range of threads and stitches can be used and explored.  We have designed a sampler of our own.

On Tuesday we walked to the Civic Hall in Holmfirth to experience a rock band – Dead Wax and a more traditional form of Jazz – a swing band. The group Big Easy came back to school with us for a workshop.  We were all really resilient as it was a long walk and it was pouring down.  The Big Easy then came into school and sang to us and helped us do a call and response session.  We had a little go in music and we tried improvisation in music on our recorders.

In Literacy this week, we are continuing to read the Accidental Prime Minister. We are writing descriptive diary entries about our own adventure of becoming the prime minister.  We pretended to be Joe.

In PE we had our PE coach and we really impressed her with how much we had improved.  We also had a sneaky session with the yoga coach.  It was very similar to the ones we had last year with some new poses and positions. It was really good fun!

Our favourite dinner this week was the mac and cheese.
