Week ending 28.4.23

Wow, what a week we have had! Boxercise, dentists, newspaper reports and weavings!

In Maths this week, we looked at Turns, Lines and Angles. We have drawn perpendicular, parallel, horizontal and vertical lines. Full, half and quarter turns were practised by standing up and turning our bodies. We have drawn and measured different angles, including right angles, acute and obtuse.

In Science, we are investigating how light reflects. We shone torches onto the floor in the dark and we used mirrors to reflect the light in different directions.

In Literacy this week, we are continuing to learn facts about Blackpool. We investigated how to read and then write newspaper reports. We needed headlines and a range of paragraphs to construct a report.

In PSHE we talked about going to the dentists and having and maintaining healthy teeth.

In Art, we looked at weaving techniques and importantly how fabric is constructed using weft and warp. Its quite a tricky process to complete and takes some skill to create.

In PE we had our PE coach and we practised our moves in Boxercise, wearing boxing gloves and pads. We learnt two new moves – lead hook and rear hook and practised these with our partner. It was really good fun! We had to make sure we were standing correctly with our feet wide apart and at an angle with one foot forwards. Jab and cross moves were practised too!

Our favourite dinner this week was the mince beef pie. This is one of our favourites on a Thursday!
