Week ending 29th April 2022

Posted: Apr 29, 2022 by: Sarah Kendal (SKendal) on: Class 5

Move over Willy Wonka we have some new chocolatiers on the scene!

Thank you so much to everyone that has delivered their chocolate presentations this week. I am absolutely amazed at the effort that you have all put into your projects. We have seen some fabulous posters, packaging, PowerPoints, radio adverts and video adverts and have listened to some very persuasive pitches. Lots of you have even made your chocolate bars and brought some delicious samples in for us all to try. The presentations are so good, it is taking a little bit longer than planned to deliver them all, so apologies if your given day has had to change. We will continue next week.

In Maths, we have been solving problems with 3D shapes, putting nets back together and drawing 3D shapes on isometric paper.

In English, we have been taking a closer look at how to answer 3-mark questions in more detail. We have also written an ending to a story using our writing targets to guide us.

On Thursday, our wonderful sports coach Lucy, delivered a yoga lesson to the class. Unfortunately, there aren't any photos as I was completely in the zone and making the most of the relaxation!

We now know the difference between agricultural resources and geological resources after starting our new Geography topic all about our world and how resources are shared within it.

Brass continued this week. We are now getting ready for our performance at the Holmfirth Music Festival. It should be a wonderful day and it is such a valuable opportunity for our class to experience performing to an audience, after all of their hard work.

In Science, we investigated the properties of lots of different materials and made some unexpected discoveries!

Well done Class 5, I hope you all have a lovely, long weekend!
