Week ending Friday 28th January

The weather seems to be getting warmer and outdoor PE is now a thing. We've been playing hockey again this week, practising our dribbling and passing skills with drills and relays.

In maths, we have been studying area and perimeter and have moved onto the new topic of volume - working in centimetres cubed.

Deforestation has been our theme in English, as we have looked at the impacts of this and begun to prepare to write a complaint letter to someone who can explain to us exactly what is being done about this. I'm not sure Mr Bolsonaro will reply, so we may need to look closer to home.

The rainforest topic has also inspired more artwork, which you can see here.

We have also been looking more into the human geography of South America and trying to understand what lies behind life expectancy.

On Thursday is was Holocaust Memorial Day and we had a frank discussion around the subject of genocide and how it is important that the new generation grow up understanding the horrors of something that keeps being repeated, in the hope that their generation can lead us to a better place.

Miss Monday continued the work of Mrs Pierce in forest skills

Spring is almost here - it's in the air.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mr C, Mrs J, Miss M, Mrs M and the team.
