Week Ending Friday 21st January

Posted: Jan 21, 2022 by: Martin Clayton (MClayton) on: Class 5

Another packed week of fun here in class 5.

Maths has been grappling with the metric and imperial systems - converting units. This was a bit tricky to begin with, but we have been more successful as the week has gone on.

In English, we began by looking at the Carnival of the Animals, listening to music and working out which animal it related to and why. From there, we made our own music for the sloth! This lead into us using the rationale for the music, to write poetry about sloths. This has been such a fantastic week with lots of productivity in different disciplines.

In PE, we have been continuing with the Street Dance, which is REALLY looking good!

The other PE session is hockey, where we are negotiating our dribbling skills - a work in progress.

The artwork is backing up our topic work on Rainforests. We are currently looking at physical and human geography and relating it to South America.

Our class book is Katherine Rundell's, The Explorer - the tale of a small group of children lost in the Amazon, following a plane crash.

I'll sign off with an attachment for a netball group, which Mrs Matthews has asked me to share.

Have a lovely weekend - Spring is almost upon us!
