Week ending Friday 22nd October

Posted: Oct 22, 2021 by: Martin Clayton (MClayton) on: Class 5

The end of the half term - it has FLOWN by, hasn't it?

This week we have finished our letters to Tim Peake, so they'll be making their way to him over the holiday. We also completed the Space topic and did a short assessment to check that we all know how the celestial bodies move around each other and when. Ask your child about the stages of the moon, why we have seasons, why it gets dark at night and the order of the planets.

Maths has been a week of fractions - scary at first, but easy at the end. Lots of practice on Mathletics and a link to BBC Bitesize on Teams.

We've been reading The Summer I Robbed a Bank by David O'Doherty this half term - we WILL finish this today. If you are looking for some books to read here is a link from Read, Holmfirth: https://www.thereaderteacher.com/year5

And some books that they recommend at the moment:

Enjoy the holiday - read lots, get outside in the fresh air, research Greek myths and keep doing times tables practice!
