Week 1...

What a lovely week we have had. Mrs Johnson and I feel quite privileged to be teaching this class and, after 4 days, we are quite sure that this is going to be a superb year.

We have been doing maths since day 1, consolidating and moving on in place value as a firm foundation for the year. Every day we been singing times tables songs; it is so nice to be able to sing again!
In English, we have begun to work on creative writing and talked about grammatical terms and writing points for the year.

PE - we began dance with Street Dance and swimming!

We've been doing lots of team-building and talking about feelings and our class expectations and ethos. We did some fun art with Miss Monday and had an introduction to brass from Mr Whiteman.

We've also been reading a class novel about a boy called Rex, who has gone to spend summer holidays with his Uncle Derm - will he REALLY rob a bank?

The class topic for the half term is Out of This World and we have begun to look at the amazing projects that have come in from home, such as PowerPoints and Fact Sheets, but we also had some rockets and models. Incredible!

Brilliant; we can't wait for Monday!

Have a lovely weekend - Mr C, Mrs J and the team.
