In Class 5 this week, the children have completed some fabulous presentations persuading people to use renewable energy. Next week, they will be using their presentations to write their own persuasive piece of writing. In maths, we were solving problems involving money. The children even got to budget for their dream birthday party! Also, we have started our new science topic on changing materials. The children investigated whether different materials were soluble, magnetic, buoyant, transparent and conductors of electricity. They had to bring in their science knowledge from Years 3, 4 and 5 for this task. Also, today, we have been separating mixtures using equipment like sieves, filter paper and magnets.
