Welcome Back

Posted: Mar 13, 2021 by: Liam Kershaw (LKershaw) on: Class 5

We have had an absolute blast welcoming back all the children this week in Class 5. I have certainly enjoyed having the class back and being able to catch up with everyone. The mood in the class has been incredibly jovial and in all honesty, I think everyone is just happy to be back to relative normality!

We have continued with our rainforest topic this week by looking at the history of the Mayan civilisation and comparing that to the other periods of history we have studied in earlier year groups. We have also created our very own story, where all members of the class have contributed ideas to a story about logging in the rainforest. The children had some amazing ideas, and I can't wait for them to start writing their own version of this next week. Also this week, we have made handwriting a real focus, with plenty of practice every day. I hope to see some fabulous handwriting examples in their writing next week.

This week has been dominated by belly laughs in class, stories from the latest lockdown (including comparing our lack of haircuts!) and an all round 'feel good' atmosphere, which I hope continues! A huge thank you from me, Ms. Kewley and Miss Hewitt. We are thrilled to have everyone back!

Have a lovely weekend!

Mr. K
