Friday Shout Outs

Posted: Jun 19, 2020 by: Liam Kershaw (LKershaw) on: Class 5

Happy weekend! I hope you've had a lovely week. It has been great to see some of you in school as key worker children this week, as well as seeing a couple of you who came to say hello on their walk past school. It is always lovely to see some of you!

Speed Table Shout Outs

James did it in 3 minutes and 4 seconds. Well done!

Fred completed it in a zippy 2 minutes and 1 second!

Mabel (Fred's sister) did it in 2 minutes and 52 seconds. Great work, getting involved with my blog Mabel! Your Year 4 teacher would be proud!

Max did it in 4 minutes and 3 seconds. Amazing!

Esme did it in 4 minutes and 4 seconds. One second away from her brother's time! Keep it up!

Madison completed hers in 4 minutes and 51 seconds. Keep it up!

Tom did his in 3 minutes and 45 seconds.

Finally, Seb... Seb poked himself in the eye by mistake so didn't finish! But he said I could give him a shout out!

Next the results of our 'what if' competition. A big thank you to EVERYONE who sent in their 'what if' writing. If you sent me in a piece of 'what if' writing, you can send me a suggestion for an activity for next week, if you like. You all tried so hard and I was impressed with the effort you put into this.

But... the winner of the 'what if' competition:

Congratulations Isla!

I have attached it below. I like how she has used a rhetorical question to engage the reader, and explained about existing creatures that breathe underwater. I also like the presentation, with the neat handwriting and the different colours. I think that this is a lovely 'what if' with good vibes all around. Well done Isla!

Here are some more awesome 'what if' stories. You have ALL impressed me so much!

Fred has imagined the world without oceans.

Luke has imagined a world with teleportation, and he has some great policies to keep teleportation safe and profitable!

Owen has come up with a money tree that gives him endless money. He has already imagined the many good things he would do.

Toby has imagined something that I reckon we all have imagined at some point. What if coronavirus hadn't happened? Well, I wouldn't be writing this blog right now, that's for sure! I would be teaching you all PE right about now!

Toby has also made a poster for science.

Fred has done the same. The 'ber bum' is the sound of a heart beating, which if you say out loud, it does sound like it!

Owen has done a diagram of the heart, and a line graph with his and his mum's heart rate.

Friday Challenges

Here's Owen's photo of the longest word he made with objects in his house. He has used shoes! The photo was originally a panoramic one, so you can tell how long the word is!

Fred and Mabel have taken this one for the most unusual photo challenge... or is it for the 2D shape? I see a shape there somewhere!

James has had a go at the most unusual photo challenge and the challenge to look the most surprised.

Libby F has sent in her surprised face and a chicken she made out of sand on the beach near her new house.

Madison has sent in photos of all the challenges. Great job! Don't try the one in the bath without help from an adult, please!
