Wednesday Updates

Posted: May 20, 2020 by: Liam Kershaw (LKershaw) on: Class 5

Afternoon! Wow, it's baking hot today! Hope you are all keeping safe in the warm weather! Here are some food miles from the food in my cupboard:

Cheese from Lockerbie in Scotland (165 miles)

Peanut butter from the Netherlands (508 miles)

Tomatoes from Italy (1318 miles)

Olive oil from Spain (1254 miles)

Tuna from the Pacific Ocean! (8000 miles roughly)

Coffee from Columbia (approximately 5000 miles)

Alex has sent in proof that he did over 19,000 steps yesterday! That is the most I've had from any pupil so far this week, so that's the number to beat!

Luke has sent in his recycling leaflet. Great job!

Owen has been working hard on his maths and his food miles work. Great job! He has also been working on a story, which I cannot wait to read when he is done!

James has also been working on his food miles work. Very interesting to see where food comes from!

Tom has been baking churros! Yum!

By the way, it seems I have the food with the most food miles at the moment, with the tuna from the Pacific Ocean. I think next time I buy some tuna, I will consider checking where it has come from - need to reduce my food miles!
