A BIG hello and good morning to you all!

I thought that I would share this with you today, my partner, James has been a key worker throughout these troubled times. He is a line painter, keeping our roads safe. This week he was asked to do something little different and special. He was asked to paint something for our wonderful NHS, here it what he did …

Apparently, the rainbow was like a jigsaw! Have you seen any random acts of kindness lately?

Here's the suggested timetable:

E.R.I.C. - Everybody Reading in Class for 20mins (remember to record your reading in your reading record)

Active time - Joe Wicks is showing guiding a PE lesson at 9am (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ)

Don’t forget GoNoodle:

This half term, we are going to be looking at living things and their habitats. We are going to focus on microhabitats. We have been learning about the different habitats where living things make their homes.

Some of these habitats are very big, like a woodland. Some habitats are very small; we call these microhabitats. A large habitat contains many microhabitats. A microhabitat can be as small as a fallen branch or the space under a stone.

Here is a PowerPoint all about microhabitats and minibeasts we find in them.

I would like you to go on a search in your local environment and find two microhabitats. Have a look in the microhabitats and complete a survey to see which minibeast you can find in there? Here is an example of a table you could create to collect the results:

Can you create a pictogram of your results? Which minibeast did you find most of? Which minibeast did you find least of?

In the news at the moment, there are many conversations about something called Black Lives Matter. This is following an incident in Minneapolis with George Floyd and the subject of racism. Here is a clip from Blue Peter explaining what racism is and why it is important to discuss this issue:

It is our duty to treat everyone with the same amount of respect no matter the colour of their skin, their belief or where they come from. The book you have been looking at with Mrs B sends a great message out about being an individual. Here is a paragraph of it which I know you have looked at already:

Can you create a song which displays how brilliant we are at treating everyone equally? We would love to hear it!

PE

In PE we are going to carry on with Paralympic sports!

Today, I would like you to have a go at sitting volleyball. Teams aim to hit a ball over a net and land it within the opposition’s court. Can you use something to create a net like a blanket and hit a ball over it to someone on the other side. You must do this while you are staying sat down. Good luck! Here is a video of sitting volleyball at the Paralympics in London 2012.

Computing

You are really getting into making your compositions! This week I would like you to make another composition but adding in your own sounds under the tab “My sounds”. Good luck!

Have a wonderful day and remember to keep smiling!
