Remote Learning Friday 15th May 2020

Posted: May 14, 2020 by: Emma Barker (EBarker) on: Class 2

Happy Friday everyone! This will be my last blog for a while. Next week, I’m on ‘holiday’ as I’m working in school through the half term. Therefore I will be leaving you in the wonderful hands of Miss H. I’m sure she’ll have lots of exciting learning opportunities for you and I’ll no doubt not be able to resist popping onto the blog and email to see how you all are – I’m not that good at ‘relaxing’! Remember that today is ‘Uniform Day’, so please send me a picture of you working hard in your uniform!

Guess who ..... (There is even one of Mrs Barker and myself!) Keep them coming and we can keep adding more!

So the suggested schedule for today is as follows...

E.R.I.C. - Everybody Reading in Class for 20 mins

Active time - Joe Wicks is showing a PE lesson at 9am or Go Noodle

Maths/Literacy - do this in batches of 20 mins each, build in breaks.

Something a little off plan today, but I couldn’t see the opportunity missed. I’ve just been made aware of the Mass Observation, which is an archive of people’s lives. You can find out more about it through this video clip.

The archive are asking for school children to write a diary of the 12th of May – which was last Tuesday. I know what I was doing! Running around the playground but what were you doing? I’d love you to have a go at writing your diary from Tuesday and submitting to the archive. All the information you need is on this web page:

I’ve had some lovely photos of your camper van designs, how is everyone else getting on with those?

I thought I’d share a recipe with you today, it’s from my friend’s mum – she is an amazing baker and I’m sure you’ll love these biscuits if you make them:

Oat Rounds makes 16

50g caster sugar

100g softened butter

100g porridge oats

50g plain flour

  • Pre-heat oven 160/fan140/gas 3 and lightly grease baking trays
  • Measure sugar and butter into bowl and beat together
  • Add oats and flour and work together
  • Lightly knead until smooth and roll out to1/4 inch thickness on floured surface
  • Cut into rounds with a biscuit cutter place on baking trays
  • Bake for 20 mins or until golden brown cool on rack

Here’s a nice seaside picture you might like to have a go at too! Click the link below for some instructions on how to do it!

Please also keep adding to our Kindness Tree Padlet, the contributions from yesterday are lovely. Wouldn't it be nice if all the class could contribute?

I hope you have a wonderful day! Keep sending me your photos.
