Remote Learning Wednesday 1st April 2020

Posted: Mar 31, 2020 by: Emma Barker (EBarker) on: Class 2

So it's the 1st of April - did you manage to fool anyone this morning? Perhaps you can let me know some of the pranks you might have played on the people at home? I can't believe we've made it to Wednesday already, even though the days are very different, they seem to be going quickly too.

E.R.I.C. - Everybody Reading in Class for 20 mins (remember to record your reading in your reading record)

Active time - Joe Wicks is showing guiding a PE lesson at 9am

Maths/Literacy - do this in batches of 20 mins each, build in breaks.

Break - could you make everyone in your house a drink?

LO: Use addition strategies

Today's 6 questions...

  • 12 + 87 =
  • 44 – 17 =
  • 4 + 56 + 7 =
  • 100 ÷ 10 =
  • Write seventy-eight in digits.
  • ½ of 80

For today's game you'll need two counters (you could make these or use coins). Here's the game board. If you can't print this off, then you could re-create your own on paper. Place your counters anywhere on the board and record your number, take it in turns to go to the next number in any direction, keep adding the numbers. The first to get 'spot on 50' is the winner.

So today we are going to plan our story ready to write on Friday. I’ve created a story map for you to add your own details. If you don’t like any of the ideas then you can change them for your own. Remember you are not writing the story – you are just planning it so it will be easier to write on Friday. You could also add pictures or words/phrases to help you.

Have a look at this Easter traditions presentation. Can you make an Easter basket - this is a tradition that many Christians like to do. There's a tutorial on You Tube here but you might have your own way of making a paper basket.

Here is the challenge from Miss H for today! Remember to email us your creations! If you don't have Lego, don't worry any construction material will do ...

Have a great day and try to get outside if you can! Stay safe.
