What a brilliant half term!

18th February 2022

What a fantastic half term we have had in class, on behalf of the whole Year 1 team, I would like to thank you all for your continued support that you have given the children. It has allowed them to progress and mature greatly!

This week we used clay to make sculptures of mountains linked with our topic in geography. We ensured that we included the summit, peak, steep slopes, snow line, a valley, sharp ridges and foothills. We used different tools to sculpt the clay to represent famous mountains from the UK and the world like Mount Everest and Skiddaw.

In our last session of golf this week, we had a mini tounament. We brought together all of the skills we have been learning to earn points. We had the following activities: putting the ball, chipping the ball onto the green and hitting the ball with the wedge over a great distance. We definitely have some budding golfers in our class!

Have a lovely weekend and holiday everyone, get lots of rest ready to start back school in March!
