4th February 2022

What a busy week we have had celebrating Chinese New Year!

We learnt about the culture and how the celebrations last over 2 weeks compared with how we celebrate the new year in just one day. We discovered which year we were born in and found that we were either born in the year of the goat or the monkey. We finished our celebrations by sampling a selection of chinese food. We tried vegetable stir fry, prawn crackers and vegetable spring rolls. We had a democratic vote and recorded this in a table with a tally. We found that the most popular food to taste was the prawn crackers!

During geography, we learnt about what we would need if we wanted to climb a mountain and found that you need to be quite strong as there is a lot of equipment needed. We made a list of what we would need in our topic books!

During golf this week, we learnt how to drive the ball before practicing our putting, chipping and driving skills in groups. We found that the higher we pulled the clubs back, the further the balls went!

I hope you have a lovely weekend and the weather is a little more settled than last week!
