Snow-tastic week!

Posted: Dec 3, 2021 by: Mrs Parker (NHemingway) on: Class 1

3rd December 2021

We made the most of the snowy weather on Monday and had lots of fun making snowpeople, using our 3D shape knowledge. Some of us even discovered that we could make snow stick together! What an exciting time we had!

During our forest session, we looked for signs of the stormy weather in the woods. We noticed that lots of leaves and small branches have been knocked down over the weekend. We thought about this special time of year when we start to prepare for Christmas and learned how to use palm drills to make tree slice Christmas decorations. In our mud kitchen, we enjoyed mixing Christmas puddings!

During computing sessions, we have been sorting objects into groups on PurpleMash. We looked at how we could sort different 2D shapes and even used a Venn diagram!

We had a rehearsal for our Christmas production today! We showed Year 5 (who were socially distanced from us) what we had been rehearsing and they were truly amazed! There will be no photos yet as we don't want to spoil the suprise for you on Tuesday ...

Have a fabulous weekend and get lots of rest, we have a busy few weeks approaching us!
