Morning all,

I hope you are all well and healthy!

Here is today's list of suggested activities:

- GoNoodle -

- Phonics -

Today you are going to be looking at the 'kn' sound. This is strange as the 'k' within it is silent and you only say the 'n' part of it.

Have a go at these words:

knee
knock
knot
know
kneel

- English -

We have been learning about the story of Woolf! Woolf is a special story as the author, Alex Latimer, uses something very clever in the story!

He uses a technique called portmanteaus (I remember them as poor man's toes)!

A portmanteau is a new word created by putting other words together!

Examples from the story would be Woolf - wool and wolf mixed together, bullfrog - bull and frog mixed together and others like horsefly and catfish.

Have another listen to the story of Woolf by clicking here!

You are to come up with Portmanteaus for your very own creature. Try placing a few animal names into the Portmanteau generator here to come up with a great name for your new animal!

Here is my example!

Merfish Mermaid/fish – The merfish flims (floats and swims) around the sevens seas, bobbing on top of gentle waves. When it becomes hungry, the merfish searches for its favourite seaside snack, crabsters (crab and lobster). Now the merfish is full, it sellows (sings and bellows) a tune!

Can you create your own portmanteau creature and begin to sketch and label it like you did with Woolf?

- Break -

- Maths -

Let us check what you can remember from last week's maths by having a go at a Mojo Maths!

Chat about the first few questions and then have a go at working out the questions on the last slide in your remote learning books!

Click here to open Majo Maths!

- Lunch -

- Science -

Lots of food that we eat comes from plants, like fruit, vegetables and grains.

In your remote learning books, could you draw and write the names of plants that you eat?

My favourites would have to be the tomato, orange and broccoli!

Thanks for your ongoing support!

Cheers,

Mr. H.
