Morning all!

Thank you for all the amazing comments and emails you have sent my way!

Here is today's list of suggested activities:

- GoNoodle

- Phonics -

Today, we are moving onto the tricky 'ure' sound. This sounds more like 'yure'. It is found in words like treasure and picture.

Ask your children to write down these words after you read them and get them to sound them out using 'Fred fingers'.

temperature
figure
vulture
furniture

Sentence time:
Tell the sentence below to your child one word at a time.

They should repeat the word back to you.

Continue through the sentence, saying and repeating in a my turn your turn approach.

See if your child can tell you the sentence back from memory.

Write it down for them as they do to show them how to correctly spell each word.

Cover up your correct sentence and ask them to attempt to write the sentence now from memory.

Jack climbed onto the table and hid behind a candle.

Jim and the Beanstalk! by Raymond Briggs Play the video using the link below, but be sure to pause it at 45 seconds!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsKYZjPrHXM

If you were to climb a beanstalk, what would you want to find at the top?
Would it be a castle? Or a little cottage?
Would it be like the real world only in the clouds?
Or would it be a magical place with pink grass and orange juice rivers?

In your remote learning books, under the title Jim and the Beanstalk, could you draw what you would find at the top of your beanstalk? Your picture can be a big as the whole page!

After you have finished your picture, you can watch the rest of the story to the end! Enjoy!

- Lunch -

- ICT -

Log onto PurpleMash and enter the 2dos menu. Here you will find 2 new tasks for you to try.

Free code scenes we have used in class, try your hand at the four challenges. After, try a game of bond bubbles to practice your maths!

- Handwriting

In your remote learning books, could you try to write the sentence below?

Remember to have all your letters the correct way around and make your letters the right size including any ascenders and descenders.

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

Thank you for taking the time to read and work through these activities. Feel free to comment below on how you found them and don't forget to email me any pictures of the top of your beanstalks or your handwriting from today!

Cheers and stay safe!

Thank you. Ava has loved using her imagination to draw what's at the top of her beanstalk... A cottage made of sweets, a pond filled with chocolate sauce and a mermaid, fairies in the sky, rainbow coloured grass and sun... For a moment I was there too! It's amazing too how when you say it's handwriting, it's the best writing they've ever done!
