Good morning everyone!

Hope you all had a great day yesterday doing exciting activities for Mrs Kendall and Miss Watkins.

Before I give you your activities for today, here's a brief photo gallery! I've had so many wonderful photos sent this week; thank you so much everyone for your AMAZING hard work!

Max's chocolate crispie slices; yum!!                     Laurie's ice cube science!

Here's Laurie's geography too; comparing capital cities in the UK.

Here are your activities for today! Remember not to worry about struggling to complete everything if time is tricky; just select what you can do!

Maths;

8 questions;

  1. If it is 3:20, what time will it be in 30 minutes? (don't forget to count in 5s)
  2. If it's 4:25, what time will it be in 30 minutes?
  3. I have 8 angles, what shape am I?
  4. I have 5 sides, what shape am I?
  5. 342 - 8
  6. 654 - 5
  7. 35 x 5
  8. 655 divided by 5 (remember 'bus stop')

Problem;

If all the apples that come to school come in bags of 8, how many do I have if 6 bags arrive? If 2 are badly bruised, how many apples are left?

Activity;

I have set a revision 2Do on Purple Mash for you; it's adding ones to 3 digit numbers. You'll need a piece of paper and a pencil as you'll need to calculate your answers (you may need to use columns).

French;

Today I'd like you to begin to learn the days of the week. Here is a list of them and their English translations. Please could you copy both the French and the English and then cut them out, mix them up and try and match them. Perhaps you could use different colours for each day of the week; so both the French and the English Monday could be red, for example...

NB The 'i' at the end of the days = 'ee' sound

Monday = Lundi  (pronounced lurndee)

Tuesday = Mardi (pronounced mardee)

Wednesday = Mercredi (pronounced mecredee)

Thursday = Jeudi (pronounced jurdee)

Friday = Vendredi (pronounced ventradee)

Saturday = Samedi (pronounced (samdee)

Sunday = Dimanche (pronounced deemornsh)

English;

Look back at our story of the 'Mousehole Cat'. Here's the link......

You could watch the videos again if you like;

Think carefully about the character Tom; he's the old man that owns Mowzer. Please can you draw a large colourful picture of Tom and label him with adjectives and descriptive phrases that depict his character.

History; (local history)

Castle Hill and Victoria Tower | Day Out With The Kids

Many of you will have visited Castle Hill and certainly all of you will have seen it from a distance, but do you know anything about its history?

Please could you take your time and create a lovely detailed picture of Castle Hill; you can use paints, pastels, crayons or just a pencil. It is entirely up to you. You might decide to use Cezanne's style of painting!

Could you then try and find out as much information as you can about the history of Castle Hill. I'd like you to carefully write out individual captions of non-fiction information about Castle Hill's history and add these to your drawing/painting.

Reading;

After a busy day spend some lovely quiet 1 to 1 reading time with Mum or Dad

or you can read your next chapter on Purple Mash- it is up to you (there is a 2Do ready for you if you like).

Have a great day and remember to send me some of your photos; they're always great to see!

See you very, very soon!!

Mrs Matthews
