Transition Tuesday 23rd June 2020

Posted: Jun 22, 2020 by: Sarah Kendal (SKendal) on: Class 3

Good morning Class 3, Mrs Kendal here!

For the next few weeks, either Miss Watkins or I will be writing your blog every Tuesday. If you were back in school, we would be having some transition sessions which would give us the chance to get to know you and you the chance to get to know us before September. As this is not possible, I hope that we can do that through your blog instead.

The activities that I am adding to your blog are only suggestions. You may feel like doing all, some or none of them – whichever you decide is fine.

Here are my ideas for today:

All about me -

When we have a transition day in school, Miss Watkins and I love finding out about the things our new class loves doing and what makes each person unique.

Today I would love to find out a bit about you. This could be presented in a poster, a letter, photos or an email.

Before you start, here’s a bit about me - I wonder if you can work out what each picture represents?

If you would like to tell me a bit about yourself (in your chosen style) please send emails and pictures to class4@netherthongprimary.co.uk

Maths -

Are you good at solving problems? Have a go at this Maths problem. You could even use real playing cards if you have some.

Art -

Miss Watkins and I are both big fans of art (as you will find out next year); Miss Watkins happens to be rather more talented than me though!

Picasso was a very famous artist who created very weird and wonderful drawings and paintings. Here are some of his creations:

As you can see, he painted faces in rather an unusual way!

Have a go at creating your own Picasso masterpiece by playing this game:

I would love to see some of your finished masterpieces! If you can, send me a picture to class4@netherthong.primary.co.uk

I am really looking forward to getting to know you all and I hope that you have fun with some of these activities.

Have a wonderful day!

Love from Mrs Kendal and the year 4 team xx
