Happy Tuesday everyone!

It's so good to be back! Thank you so much for all your lovely messages!

I am so proud of you all; you are all working so hard and your work is really great to see! Here are a few photos you sent yesterday;

It was lovely to read all about your exciting pets Max and Arianna!

Here's Laurie's fabulous pizza and look at the lovely path he found through the bluebell woods!

Did you spot Laurie?!

Today's activities involve my maths and grammar tasks, as well as Miss Hemingway's music and PSHE; sounds a busy one!!

Let's get going.....

Maths:

8 questions;

  1. 72 x 4
  2. 63 x 3
  3. 456 divided by 3 (remember to use 'bus stop division' and remember to carry over remaining numbers)
  4. 568 divided by 4 (you'll need 'bus stop' division again)
  5. 35 divided by 5 (you won't need 'bus stop'- just think of your times tables- how many 5's in 35?)
  6. 36 divided by 4 (think of times tables)
  7. 558 plus 27
  8. Subtract 40 from 284 (think about how many 10's you are taking away)

Activity;

We have worked really hard on 'time' recently. Today I'd like to challenge you all to having a go at some time related problems. Remember to read the question carefully and not to rush. Work with Mum or Dad to try and solve them as some could be a little tricky. Please can you try section A or B

Grammar;

Clauses and Phrases; we've looked at these before but I do know many of you found this activity a little tricky as it can be challenging to remember the difference between the two! Remember, a 'clause' is a group of words that makes sense on its own and includes a verb, however a 'phrase' is a group of words that doesn't make sense on its own.

Have a go at the activity and see if you can become more confident at it! You might find Mum or Dad find this a bit tricky at first!!

Computing/PSHE;

Have you written on our Padlet yet? It is looking amazing! Please do keep adding to it as it is making me and everyone smile! Already written on it? Please add more as you will always make someone smile!

Bee Happy - Padlet

Here is what it looks like so far ...

Music;

Enjoy the decade last week, 1950s? Well, this week we are swinging into the 1960s! I have chosen two iconic songs from this decade for you to choose from. We have Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones and Respect by Aretha Franklin. Try learning one or both of these and performing it to people at home! Also, do a little research into music in the 1960s. Here are some questions to help you get started:

  • Which artists were popular?
  • What genre of music was most popular?
  • Which instruments were used most during this decade?

Make notes and let me know how you get on! Here are the links to a YouTube video of the song and the links to the lyrics:

Have a great day everyone; hopefully the sun will shine all day!

Remember to let us know if you have any worries at all and please don't struggle if the workload is too much; select the amount you think you can manage.

Take care!

Love from,

Mrs Matthews and Miss Hemingway!
