Remote Learning Wednesday 5th May 2020

Oh, what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day! Miss H here

We have been very busy quizzing lately with friends and family members! I have taken on a quizmaster role although I don’t think I will be as good as Jacob from what his mum was telling me! Each household taking part comes up with 10 questions on a topic. We then take it in turns reading out our questions followed by the answers. My sister, who is in a different household to us, has been score keeper. Rather her than me! We have asked people to come up with team names and my mum, Grandma and I are called Here Come the Girls! I then take a picture of all of us together as a way to remember. Here is one from a quiz with some of our family …

Maybe you could organise a quiz by making up some questions on a topic?

Here is the suggested timetable for today:

E.R.I.C. - Everybody Reading in Class for 20 mins (remember to record your reading in your planners)

Active time - Joe Wicks guided PE lesson at 9am

Don’t forget GoNoodle:

Did you enjoy using your dictionary yesterday? I love looking for the meaning of words and then using them!

As I mentioned yesterday in PSHE, Friday marks the 75th anniversary of VE day. Today I would like you to do some research to find out what VE Day is and why we celebrate it. Here are some questions for you to think about:

  • What does VE stand for?
  • Why do we celebrate VE Day?
  • How was the first VE Day celebrated?
  • Why does VE Day not mark the end of World War Two?

You could write about other facts that you find, these are just a starting point for you! Make some notes about what you find and tomorrow we will write up our findings in a non-chronological report. Here is a PowerPoint with some information and a link to a good video all about VE Day:

French;

Bonjour tout le monde, Miss H ici! Today in French we are going to carry on looking at the French names for the colours. I find colouring very therapeutic so here is a colouring activity I have found to help you practise using your French colour knowledge. Also, remember Duolingo which is a fabulous way to learn in short, easy sessions. Here is an image of the coloriage magique (Colour by numbers) as well …

Here is the Lego challenge for today! Remember to email us your creations! If you don't have Lego, don't worry any construction material will do …

Have a lovely day and remember email us your work and to say hello!

Miss H
