Good morning everyone!

Hope you are all feeling fit and well and ready for another exciting day learning and having lots of fun!

Here are today's activities!

Music; (fun, practical activity)

I hear many of you had a great time making your clocks yesterday! Today would you like to make some simple percussion instruments so you can compose your own piece of music? You can use a variety of possible resources; sellotape, yoghurt pots, cardboard boxes, elastic bands, cardboard tubes (from kitchen roll or foil perhaps), pans, empty plastic bottles, dry pasta, rice for example. Can you compose a short piece of percussion music? How will you write your music?

P.S.H.E; ( health education poster- making)

Can you create a bright and colourful health education poster to remind everyone how to help themselves and others keep safe during the current corona virus epidemic? Remember to take care to make sure it's clear and eye catching. Take special care with spellings too!

Computing (linked to R.E.)- one paragraph only required.

Think of a leader that inspires you. It may be any leader at all; it may be the leader at a sports club you attend, it could be a political leader, the queen, a famous historical leader or perhaps our Headteacher. It may even be the leader at Cubs or Brownies. Using 'Word' please could you create a small piece of text (a paragraph is ample) to tell me who it is and why you are so impressed by them. What makes them a good leader? Again, you could insert a picture if you like and today do you think you could add a 'header' and a 'footer' to your page?

Maths;

Practise counting in 5's and reciting the 5x tables.

Practise telling the time today at frequent intervals. Keep practising making different times on your clock too; aim to work towards making times to the nearest 5 minutes if you can and later to the nearest minute.

In your pack you will find the activity below (section A or B page 102- 103). Select either A or B.

You will need to practise reading Roman numerals to 12 too!

OR

Literacy;

L.O. To write a list of simple instructions on how to make a healthy sandwich.

Did you enjoy making your healthy sandwich? If you haven't yet made it try and do that today as I'd really like you to then write a list of simple instructions using a heading, sub-headings, time related openers (first, next, finally) and 'bossy verbs' (eg put, spread, chop, grate....). I might even follow your instructions and make one myself!!

Here's an example;

How to make a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich

Many apologies if there appears to be too many activities today; some of these need only be short. You may find your child can complete the music and PSHE totally independently too. Please don't feel under pressure, however, to complete all the activities in any one day if you/your child is struggling to do so. Select the activities you feel you are able to complete today and try the others another time. Perhaps begin with maths and literacy and share some special reading time together.

Here is the challenge from Miss H for today! Alfie did an amazing job yesterday along with Max! Remember to email us your creations! If you don't have Lego, don't worry any construction material will do …

Have a wonderful day together and have lots of fun!

Take care and keep very safe. Keep smiling too!

Mrs Matthews
