Good afternoon everyone!
As always, we've had a wonderful week this week. The children continue to work incredibly hard and with such enthusiasm too!
Today, we have had our final ancient Egyptians session; learning all about how the wealthy and pharoahs were embalmed and mummified. The children loved re-enacting the whole procedure, step by step!!
Following on from our lovely whole class story; 'Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx', as well as 'Jimmy and the Pharoah', the children have also planned and written their very own ancient Egyptian adventure stories! I can't wait to read them all!
Today, we have shared a very exciting box of artefacts; this time, 'The Romans'. Again, Tolson Museum have provided us with a fabulous resource to share; it includes a wide range of amazing artefacts and factual information. The children have thoroughly enjoyed passing around the objects and sharing the factual documents. We've learnt so much even before we fully begin the topic following our return from Cliffe House.
Badminton proved very popular too this week. The progress the children have made across this half term has been great to see; super serving, returning and competitive games too! All the children have really impressed us!
Computing has been great fun too; the children have loved learning all about how to edit photos to achieve the required outcomes. Today, they have worked incredibly well using the 'cloning' tool to make effective alterations and earlier in the week the children added a range of colour effects to alter the mood of different photos. They have loved every minute!
Do enjoy the photos I have added below; taken during our history session.
Have a wonderful week and see you all very soon,
Mrs Matthews and the class 4 team.
xx
